Dineo Mtetwa

Dineo Mtetwa is PhD candidate at the University of the Witwatersrand. She has been in the field of anthropology since her undergraduate studies and pursued both her post-graduate studies in Social and Medical Anthropology at Wits. Her main research interests include urban studies, embodied relations, urban infrastructure, and security.

Currently, her PhD research aims to analyse the human body as an active resource in accessing water, energy, and food security through collective farming in Limpopo. Outside of academia, Dineo is a self-taught documentary photographer that draws closely from the everyday lives of people in her community of Soweto.
